The smell of grass. The roar of the crowd. Friday night lights. And then, the whistle blows. Like a guided missile, I track my opponent. And just like that. LIGHTS OUT. I am #8, 6'3 220lb Defensive End for the Palmetto Tigers.

Ive been playing football since I was 8 years old. Football has been a brotherhood for me. Ive bonded and made lasting friendships along this journey. My team mates are a part of my family. Football has taught me leadership, discipline, determination and how to be a team player.

My role model is my father. He has taught me playing football is a privilege, rewards come with hard work and there are consequences when I am lazy. Education is priority. My junior year I allowed my grades to slip and I had to sit out my entire Junior year. It crushed me, but it taught me to focus and work harder than ever to rejoin my family on the field this final year of my high school career.

I'm not ready to hang my cleats up just yet. My future goal is to have the privilege to play football in college while I pursue a degree in Sports Engineering.
